What is Form I-90?

A permanent resident card (green card) is valid for a limited time, commonly ten years. Form I-90, Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card, is the form lawful permanent residents use to renew an expiring card or to replace one that is lost, stolen, damaged or has incorrect information.

Renewing a card does not change your status as a permanent resident, but a valid card matters for work, travel and proving your status. If your card is a two-year conditional card, the process is different — see our removal of conditions (Form I-751) page, and check USCIS's official Form I-90 page for what applies to you.

My card already expired — can I still renew?
The Form I-90 instructions cover both cards that are about to expire and cards that have already expired. USCIS explains how to proceed on its official Form I-90 page, and we can help you prepare the form.
What if my card was stolen?
We can help you prepare Form I-90 to request a replacement — let us know the details of your situation.
Do you handle the biometrics appointment too?
USCIS schedules biometrics appointments directly — we'll help make sure your application is ready before that step.
What do I need to renew my green card?
Your current green card (if you still have it), a government photo ID, your passport and any records that support the reason for the application — for example, a police report for a stolen card. USCIS's instructions list exactly what to include.
My card is a two-year conditional card. Is this the right service?
A two-year conditional card is usually handled through a different form, the I-751. See our removal of conditions page, and check USCIS's official instructions for your card.
Can you submit my I-90 for me?
No. We prepare the form from your information; you check it, sign it and submit it as the instructions describe.
