Frequently asked questions

Do I need an appointment?
Yes, we recommend booking ahead so we can prepare everything for your visit or remote session.
Can you help if I'm self-employed or a gig worker?
Yes — this is one of our most common cases, including Uber, Lyft, and other independent contractor income.
Do I need my passport for an ITIN application?
A passport is commonly used because it can serve as proof of both identity and foreign status, and the IRS lists the accepted documents in the Form W-7 instructions. As an IRS-authorized Certifying Acceptance Agent, OG can review an original passport and certify a copy for the application, so it does not always have to be mailed; what applies depends on the applicant and the document, and the IRS decides each application. See our ITIN page.
What is the difference between tax preparation and an ITIN?
Tax preparation is preparing and filing your tax return. An ITIN is a taxpayer identification number the IRS issues to people who need one for a tax return but are not eligible for a Social Security number. You may need both — an ITIN application is generally submitted with a tax return, with some exceptions the IRS lists — but they are separate services, and an ITIN is not an Employer Identification Number (EIN) for a business.
Can you promise me a refund or tell me which credits I qualify for?
No. Whether you receive a refund, which credits apply and how large they are depend on your income, filing status, family situation, identification numbers and the rules for that tax year, and the IRS makes the final decision. We prepare your return from the documents you provide, go through the questions it asks and explain the result.
Do you prepare taxes in Spanish?
Yes. We work in English and Spanish, in person at our Paterson, NJ office or remotely, and our pages and documents are available in both languages.
Can I work with you remotely or in Texas?
Yes. Customers elsewhere in the United States can work with us remotely, and in the Spring, Klein and Houston area of Texas we work by appointment — message us on WhatsApp to arrange it.
Which service is right for me — individual, self-employed, gig driver or amended return?
Use Individual & Family for a typical return with W-2 income. Use Self-Employed if you file a Schedule C for freelance or business income, Gig Worker if you drive or deliver for platforms such as Uber, Lyft or DoorDash, and Amended Returns to correct a return you already filed. Many people fit more than one — tell us your situation and we will point you to the right one.

About our tax and ITIN services

OG Multiservices LLC prepares income tax returns in English or Spanish at our Paterson, NJ office or remotely, and helps people prepare ITIN applications. These are different needs, so they have different pages: choose the one that matches your situation, and if you are not sure, message us.

Tax preparation: individual and family returns are on the Individual & Family page; self-employed workers, freelancers and small business owners who file a Schedule C are on the Self-Employed page; rideshare and delivery drivers are on the Gig Worker page; and a return you already filed that needs correcting is on the Amended Returns page. In each case we work from the documents you bring, ask the questions the return requires, and prepare it for your review before it is filed.

An ITIN (Individual Taxpayer Identification Number) is a number the IRS issues to people who must file or be included on a U.S. tax return but are not eligible for a Social Security number. It is for tax reporting. Applying means preparing Form W-7 with supporting documents; the IRS decides each application. Our ITIN page explains how we help, and it links back here when a tax return is part of the process.

Credits, deductions, refunds and deadlines depend on your own situation and change from one tax year to the next, so we cannot promise a particular result. In the Spring, Klein and Houston area of Texas we work by appointment, and customers elsewhere in the United States can work with us remotely.
